Non-Listed Species



There are a number of species that are not listed as Federal or State Threatened & Endangered species but are protected by other regulations such as the Migratory Bird Treaty Act. Sometimes the permitting policies of local government require consideration of additional species and conservation management of certain species is often desired by landowners or developers.

Increasingly there are complex issues where people and animals interface leading to conflicts. As humans have expanded into wild habitats predators are increasingly hunting pet dogs and cats. Bears are attracted to human trash not properly secured. Prairie dogs occupy landscapes supporting a system of life where humans have other plans for the land use. We are keenly interested in these interaction issues and can assist in pre-planning for avoidance and mitigation of such conflict issues as well as help devise solutions for conflicts that are occurring.

The following are some of the species that commonly generate the need for a wildlife consultant:
